We know you have options. Every high street has a jeweller. Every browser tab has twelve more. So why Gear Jewellers? It's a fair question, and we'd rather answer it properly than just tell you we're "passionate about jewellery" and leave it at that.
Here's what actually sets us apart, and why so many couples who walk through our door once end up coming back for everything.
Not in a catalogue. Not available to order in six weeks. In the store, today, ready to try on.
600 styles is a lot. It means you're not choosing between a handful of options and hoping one of them is close enough. It means you can try on a classic round solitaire and an elongated oval halo and a vintage-inspired cluster and a sleek emerald cut bezel back to back, in the same visit, on your actual hand, until something stops you in your tracks and you just know.
There's no substitute for that. Not a website, not a photo, not a 360-degree video. The ring that's right for you is the one that looks extraordinary on your hand in real light. We make sure you have every possible option to find it.
Every diamond we sell, natural or lab grown, is ethically sourced. Our natural diamonds are conflict-free in full accordance with the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme, the internationally recognised standard that tracks diamonds from mine to market and ensures they haven't been used to finance conflict or human rights abuses.
This matters to us. It should matter to you too, and we think it does, which is probably why you're reading this. When you buy a diamond from Gear Jewellers, you know exactly what you're buying and where it came from. That's a promise we take seriously.
We are not in the business of selling average diamonds. Every stone we stock, regardless of shape, size, or price point, has been selected to meet a high standard of quality before it ever makes it into our cases.
What that means in practice: we look at cut quality, proportions, brilliance, and overall appearance before we buy. A certificate is the starting point, not the end of the conversation. A stone that looks good on paper but flat in real life doesn't make the cut. We'd rather have fewer, better diamonds than more mediocre ones.
Every diamond we sell comes with independent certification from world-renowned gemological laboratories —
These certifications independently verify the exact quality of your diamond, its cut, colour, clarity, and carat weight, with no incentive to flatter the stone.
Your certificate is your guarantee. It tells you precisely what you're buying, in writing, from a lab that answers to no one but the truth. Whether you choose a natural diamond or a lab grown one, full certification comes as standard.
We stock both natural and lab grown diamonds, and we're genuinely enthusiastic about both. A lab grown diamond is a real diamond — same carbon structure, same brilliance, same hardness — at typically 50–70% less than an equivalent natural stone. For couples who want to maximise their budget without compromising on quality or certification, lab grown diamonds are a serious, beautiful option.
Ask us. We'll walk you through both and help you decide what's right for you.
This one tends to stop people in their tracks.
Once you buy a ring from us, you're entitled to bring it in for a professional clean and full assessment, as often as you like, for the rest of your life. No charge. No appointment required.
We'll clean your ring to perfection using professional equipment that gets into every crevice of the setting, restoring that original brilliance. And while we're at it, we'll check your ring for signs of wear and tear, inspecting the prongs, the setting, the band, so that any small issues are caught and dealt with before they become expensive ones.
It's the kind of service that sounds almost too good to be true, so let us be clear: it's real, it's free, and it's ours to you for life. Because a diamond ring is a long-term commitment, and we think the service behind it should be too.
Getting the ring size right matters, and sometimes it changes. Fingers expand in the heat, shrink in the cold, change after pregnancy, change as we age. It happens to everyone.
We offer a free ring sizing service, and we can make any of our rings to fit any finger size. If the ring you fall in love with needs to be sized up or down, we'll take care of it. And if your size changes down the line? Come back in. We'll sort it.
The right ring should fit perfectly. We make sure it does. Book an appointment with us to view our entire range
