Origin and Evolution
Gear Jewellers started with a family, a craft, and a small kiosk on Parnell Street.
Jeff Gear had spent thirty years in the family business before stepping out on his own in 2008, learning the trade from the inside, understanding what people actually wanted, and quietly forming a view on how it should be done. Opening during a recession was not the plan but it worked. The shop has grown since then. Same street, four times the size.
"After 30 years in this business, I've learned that jewellery isn't just about precious metals and stones. It's about marking life's moments - big and small. That's what keeps me passionate about what we do at Gear Jewellers."
